1. Have a separate space for your office. 

Just because you do not have to go to an office and sit behind a desk does not mean that you should stay in your bed or in front of the television with your laptop trying to complete the job.

Experts recommend making a private space to work at home so you can "go to work" and not distract yourself with dirty dishes, a child crying or your favorite TV show.

2. Establish clear boundaries. 

Having a dedicated place to work is half the battle, you also need to set rules about who and what can enter your office. "Set limits where children, dogs or wives can not come," says Cardone. The workspace must be empty of distractions. For example, forget about putting a television in your office or checking Facebook five times a day.

Having an office schedule can help you be more productive. According to Joel Garfinkle, author of "Getting Ahead: Three Steps to Take Your Career to the Next Level," you should not only stick to a work schedule but make sure your family and friends respect these rules.

In addition to doing this, experts suggest that it is a good idea not to work all day in pajamas. Have a prep routine, take a shower and get dressed, even if your office is at the end of the hallway. "People boast about working their house in their underwear, but that's not the way to grow a business," Cardone says.

4. Change your mindset. 

Avoiding long hours of work and having more flexibility in your schedule is very tempting, but there can be repercussions. It is more convenient not to have to go to an office, but that can not be an excuse to do nothing. "While entrepreneurs are better at working at home, being a proactive communicator is the" secret weapon "to be successful."

5. Know when to throw in the towel.
